Slag is often inevitably produced as a by-product during steel production. Depending on the production process, slag is divided into blast furnace slag and steelworks slag. The liquid blast furnace slag is predominantly cooled in the steelworks by quenching with water, which produces the glassy, fine-grained granulated blast furnace slag. Our technologies ensure that the high-quality blast furnace slag can be transformed into ground blast furnace slag, which in turn can be used in the cement industry. The liquid steel mill slags are poured into so-called beds for cooling. After cooling, they undergo further processing steps such as crushing, screening or grinding. Not only slags, but also other by-products and waste such as iron sulphate, iron chlorides, steel mill dusts, mill scale or ammonium sulphate are handled by us and processed for recycling in other industries.
